Board of Directors
Martha Day (Co-Founder and President)
Martha became aware of nutrition gaps and the importance of prenatal vitamins among disadvantaged women while serving at a community pregnancy center. Understanding how important prenatal vitamins are to reduce pre-term births and birth defects, she went home sharing with Tom about how frustrated she was that so many women were having to go without these vitamins. And Tom said, “Let’s do something about it.” That’s how the Vitamin Bridge got its start! She was moved to action and continues to use her experience as a volunteer and advocate to lead The Vitamin Bridge. |
Greg Winchester (Vice President)
Greg, founder and CEO of Summit Investors, LLC, provides advisory guidance from his many years of experience as a business owner, university educator, and nonprofit board member. The nonprofit boards on which Greg serves include the Auburn University Masters of Real Estate Advisory Board, Atlanta City Leader for Generous Giving and GracePoint Ministries. Greg decided to become a part of The Vitamin Bridge Board when our co-founders (Martha and Tom Day) shared their vision to help solve the urgent need to fill the gap in prenatal nutrition. |
Carol McDonald (CPA, Treasurer)
Carol, as CFO of The Catholic Foundation, brings depth of experience in many facets of nonprofit organizations. She has dedicated 20+ years leading all the financial aspects of The Catholic Foundation, which has proven quite valuable to The Vitamin Bridge. Martha and Tom are two of her dearest friends. When Martha asked if Carol would help them on The Vitamin Bridge adventure, of course she said, "Yes"! Applying all of the skills and knowledge that she has obtained from The Catholic Foundation to such a worthy and reputable cause is very exciting for her. |
Tom Day (Co-Founder and Volunteer Director of Advancement)
The Vitamin Bridge provides Tom with the opportunity to apply his business expertise while serving others in a tangible way. When Martha mentioned the disparities regarding prenatal vitamins and nutrition among the women she was meeting while serving at a community pregnancy center, he responded, “Let’s do something about this!” The Vitamin Bridge was soon created. Tom applies the skills and insights gained from his banking career to oversee The Vitamin Bridge’s development and vitamin procurement activities. He also works closely with his good friend, Don, who oversees prenatal vitamin distribution. Some of the organization’s most ingenious ideas are generated while collaborating with Don over a good BBQ sandwich. |
Steve Seitz
Steve's diverse business experience gained as a financial professional at Lincoln Property Company provides unique perspective and insight. While his wisdom and insight are invaluable to the team, Steve’s problem-solving skills enhance our ability to meet the needs of the disadvantaged. Joining The Vitamin Bridge team at the invitation of Tom and Martha took little thought, it was a no-brainer for Steve. It was a chance to help and work closely with Tom and Martha, very close, long-time family friends that he respects and values greatly. Also, the vision for the initiative was simple, clear and obviously impactful and important. An opportunity to help underprivileged moms and babies get off to a fast and healthy start! |

Whitney Freeman, RN, BSN
Whitney grew up in a small town in West Texas and from the time she was a little girl always dreamed of being a nurse. She pursued those dreams at Oklahoma Baptist University where she graduated in 2002 with a BS in Nursing. After graduation, Whitney began working at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, now known as Children’s Health. She began her career in the Trauma/Neurosurgery ICU where she worked for 6 years. In January of 2016, she felt called to volunteer at the Prestonwood Pregnancy Center. She soon joined the staff as a Nurse Sonographer and is now the Director of Nursing. When Martha asked Whitney to be on the board, it was a very quick "YES"! She loves getting to be on the front lines and help educate women on how to have healthier lives, pregnancies, and babies! |
